The best things in life are sweet!

Since you all loved my Raw Caramel Slices so so much I really wanted to treat you with another version of a raw and healthy dessert bar. This healthy Twix bar is so incredibly delicious. The crunchy base, creamy and gooey caramel and smooth chocolate is so dreamy. Since it’s best kept in the freezer it almost tastes like a Twix ice cream.

Attention! The chocolate coating is not low histamine. If you have histamine intolerance you can just make a white Twix instead! Just melt 100 g white chocolate with 1 tsp of coconut oil and coat the bars with it.

Difficulty Not too tricky

INGREDIENTS

For the crunchy base:
150 g macadamia nuts/almonds
50 g maple syrup
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
For the caramel layer:
200 g Medjool dates, pitted
3 tbsp nut butter
For the chocolate coating:
120 g coconut oil, melted
40 g cocoa powder
50 g maple syrup

Method:

For the crunchy base, place your chosen nuts into a food processor and blend until you have really small pieces. Add the rest of the needed ingredients for the base. Line a small tray with baking paper. Distribute the base evenly and press down firmly. Freeze.

For the caramel layer, wash out the food processor and place all the needed ingredients inside. Blend until you have a firm dough. Take the base out of the freezer and distribute the caramel layer evenly. Put the tray back into the freezer.

For the chocolate coating place all the needed ingredients into a bowl and whisk until smooth and creamy. Dip the bars into the chocolate and coat it from all sides. Place them on a wire rack until they start to harden. Store in an airtight container in the freezer.
