Chocolate addict

Recently I tried to incorporate some foods that I was intolerant to for years such as avocado, banana, certain nuts and cocoa. To my full surprise I felt completely fine and had no symptoms anymore. I’m not completely healed but love to see that my change of diet and recipes work! Eating healthy and a variety of different foods can help restore the intestine. Intolerances don’t have to stay forever. Your sensitivity levels can vary and you might be able to incorporate foods again like myself.

Of course I had to immediately make a chocolate spread which I loveeee for pancakes, on bread or just with a big spoon directly into my mouth. The nuts add extra flavour and texture which is so yum. It’s a great staple to have at home at all times. It’s super easy to make and only takes a few minutes. This is amazing for kids as you can get rid of store bought artificial chocolate spreads and exchange it for a healthier homemade version:).

Serves 2 small jars
Cooks in 10 Minutes
Difficulty Easy

INGREDIENTS

450 ml coconut milk/almond milk
200 g dates, pitted
40 g cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp Vanilla
2 tbsp coconut oil
2 handful mixed nuts, chopped

Method:

Place all the ingredients (except for the nuts) into a pot and heat up on low temperature for about 15 minutes. Transfer to a blender or food processor and mix until smooth. Fill into glass jars and stir in the nuts. Cool completely and store in the fridge. I recommend eating the spread once it's cool and have been in the fridge for a few hours where it firms up a bit.
